The danger of happiness is complacency like a kitten warmed by the fire curled within itself unwilling to move even if for the sake of necessity. Written words like whispered prayers hit the paper when the shade cloaks the joy. It's our job to keep these things alive for our minis me's and teach them there's fun away from phones, TV's, and PC's. In a way we are evolving into something less than what we were but we willfully submit to it to allow this technological age to occur. Skip-it's, hula hoops, blades, and bikes kept us in shape but now it's no wonder why obesity is a threat to these kids' fates. Hands set tempos for Miss Mary Mack and Miss Suzy, a tap on the shoulder and a scream of "Goose!", "you're it! ", "MARCO!"."POLO!", but now this is nostalgia, as foreign to the new gens as a corn husk doll or jax was to us. Pixels and screens have replaced street light dinner bells and grass stained jeans. A zoo of animals projected into the Robins egg blue sky in the form of cotton candy clouds if only you cared to look.

#WE ALL HAVE A LITTLE DEVIL INSIDE US POEM FREE#
Free to live without the constraint of the realities of the world which now cloud our vision. Nature back then was the fuel driving my curiosity the nourishment of plump picked berries, branches elevating me into safety, forbidden gardens which tempted me with juicy pillows of red sweetness, sticks that were fortresses deep in the woods, green carpets more lush than any man made rug, and crab apple poison puddle potions made from the soils of the earth while patiently waiting for my bus to arrive. Time belonged to me as I lay in the intertwined ropes of the cocoon rested between the trees that gave shade to the ground that grew me.

When the cyclitic buzzing of cicadas resonated through my mind endlessly through the summers which gave me the smell of fresh cut grass with every bite of oxygen. In doses I'm supplied glimpses of the time when my hands were like a dolls in the palms of my father's.

Racing thoughts pacing through the maze of my cerebrum facing walls of blocked memories washed away by the medicine of my youth in simple suppression due to the pain drowned out by tears like the rain. I've been thinking about doing this for quite sometime and several people have pushed me to do it but I've finally decided to stop being scared and just dive in! I look forward to working with you. Once I get the e-mail I'll e-mail you back the finished poem and then all I ask in return is that you e-mail me back again with HONEST feedback which I will use for my testimonials page. This may include special memories, inside jokes, advice, anything that you would like mentioned in the poem. If you're interested in my services e-mail me some "tidbits" you'd like for me to include into the poem to make it as personalized as possible. For a LIMITED TIME I am offering to do a FEW custom poems for anyone interested in order to build a collection of works to display on a business site for this new venture. I've written custom poems for funerals, weddings, anniversaries, etc. It has been a dream of mine to become a "personal poet for hire" and turn this passion into a career.
